Yara leaves Belarus

The Norwegian mineral fertilizer producer Yara will stop purchasing potash from Belarus.

This decision is not support for Europe’s sanctions policy, but a forced measure, the company’s head emphasized.

Earlier, democratic forces had secured the withdrawal of another 32 companies from Belarus.

The companies have been invited to jointly develop an investment plan for Belarus after political change.

The political scientist does not advise expecting Aliaksandr Lukashenka to give up power or hold free and fair elections.

Overall, he believes that the effect of the West’s restrictive campaign will be stretched out over time.
“I think the strategy of those imposing sanctions is that further repression becomes more costly and more complicated.

And the other side already understands psychologically that in the event of any escalation there will be additional weights, additional restrictions, additional problems”, adds Andrei Kazakevich.
