The Belarusian Collegium announces a new call for applications. Applications are accepted until 25 September 2013.

Studies at the Belarusian Collegium are free of charge.

Classes begin on 28 October 2013.

The Belarusian Collegium

offers additional training in the following specialisations:

• journalism: basic course (new programme)
• contemporary history (new programme)
• philosophy/literature (new programme)

As well as journalism workshops (jointly with the Belarusian Association of Journalists)

Senior students or persons with higher education are invited to participate in the competition. In exceptional cases, junior students are accepted.

The educational programmes of the Belarusian Collegium are focused on teaching the newest fragments of contemporary knowledge and techniques of intellectual work and do not duplicate existing programmes of state and non-state universities.

The Collegium certificate does not replace a higher education diploma.

 

The Belarusian Collegium was established in November 1997 on the initiative of a number of Belarusian non-governmental organisations and private individuals and has been implemented as an educational project since 1 October 1998.

The Belarusian Collegium — is a forum for public lectures and discussions, a place of intellectual and cultural dialogue, contacts and cooperation with colleagues from Central European and Western countries.

The Belarusian Collegium brings together scholars, journalists, people from the arts and culture, and public figures with the aim of actualising the multicultural Belarusian tradition and promoting democratic transformations in Belarusian society in the context of the defining values of European civilisation and pan-European integration processes.

Principles of activity:

— Western and Central European cultural practices in the implementation of the educational process and academic research;

— contemporary European educational technologies;

— a comparative scholarly and educational approach; critical thinking and education engaged with the Belarusian cultural tradition and contemporary situation;

— the values of an open and democratic society.
