Ahead of the lecture, TUT.by interviewed Rūstis Kamuntavičius, a long-standing partner of the Political Sphere Institute in our cooperation with Vytautas Magnus University, the Institute of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and in the organization of the International Congress of Belarusian Studies.
“Why the GDL Is Still Considered a Lithuanian State in Lithuania” is the title of the public lecture by historian Rūstis Kamuntavičius, director of the Institute of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (Kaunas) and associate professor at Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas).

Mr. Rūstis’s perspective is not entirely traditional for Lithuanian historians: not only does he acknowledge the role of Belarusians in the GDL, he also says that at times this role was the leading one.

The lecture, held within the Urbi et Orbi series by the Flying University together with the Institute of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (Lithuania), will take place on 2 May at 18:30 in the Princess II hall of the Crowne Plaza Hotel (Kirova, 13).
