The third summer session of the International PhD Programme for Belarus has taken place

From 1 to 13 July 2015, a session was held for doctoral students of the International PhD Programme for Belarus, administered by the Political Sphere Institute. The traditional partner in organising the session was the Centre for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw (Studium Europy Wschodniej, Uniwersytet Warszawski), and the session was combined with the University of Warsaw Summer School.

From 1 to 9 July, participants discussed dissertation research by the programme’s students and doctoral candidates. They also attended public lectures by Yaroslav Hrytsak, Csaba Kiss, Andrzej Mencwel and Timothy Snyder, and visited the University of Warsaw Library and the Central Historical Archives.

From 10 to 13 July, programme representatives took part in the 12th Warsaw East European Conference (Warsaw East European Conference).

In total, 12 representatives of the Belarusian academic community took part in the session. The discussions addressed research on Stefan Batory University in Vilnius (1919-1939), the contemporary ethnographic community of Belarus, problems of ethnic history and other topics.
