The dream of Belarusian neutrality can be put aside

Around thirteen thousand Russian troops arrived in Belarus in January and February, when the Kremlin assembled an unprecedented grouping near Ukraine’s borders.

Are the proposed constitutional amendments capable of protecting Belarus from being drawn into the conflict?
“Any action that Russia conducts against Ukraine can be declared not aggression, but a defensive action.

No one in Moscow will say that they are committing aggression against Ukraine.

Accordingly, it will be possible to ‘assist’ Russia in such an operation,” believes Andrei Kazakevich, director of the Political Sphere research institute.

As we can see, the Belarusian authorities did not comply with the constitutional provisions on striving for neutrality even before.

But after their abolition, there are even fewer obstacles to drawing the country into dangerous military games.
