March 19 – discussion on the krajowa idea with the participation of Jan Jurkiewicz
The Political Sphere Institute and the Belarusian Collegium, with the support of the Polish Institute in Minsk, invite you to a discussion and presentation of the anthology “The Krajowa Idea: Late Nineteenth – Early Twentieth Century.”
The discussion “The Krajowa Idea: Reassessing Its Political and Cultural Significance,” with the participation of one of the first researchers of the krajowa idea, Jan Jurkiewicz, professor at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (Poland), will take place on March 19 at 18:30 at the Monastyrski Hotel (6 Kiryl i Miafodzij St.).
Jan Jurkiewicz is one of the most authoritative Polish historians studying Polish-Belarusian-Lithuanian relations.
His scholarly interests include the history of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries, national relations in the territory of Belarus and Lithuania in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and the origins of Lithuania in early modern historiography.
He is the author of three monographs:
