International Congress of Belarusian Studies: Call for Panels until 5 March 2013

_DSC6244Dear colleagues,

On 5 March, the call for applications to organise specialised sections (panels) within the International Congress of Belarusian Studies (11–13 October 2013; Kaunas, Lithuania) will close.

Sections (panels) may be devoted to the discussion of specific research problems or to the presentation of research results within particular disciplines or research areas. When submitting proposals, the organising committee does not impose thematic or disciplinary restrictions, leaving representatives of the academic and expert community free to articulate their priorities and interests.

Sections (panels) may be disciplinary, thematic or even highly specialised. Applications are also accepted for sections devoted to current social issues.

We hope that forming sections and panels through an open call for proposals will make the International Congress of Belarusian Studies more responsive to the expectations and needs of the academic and expert community.

The organising committee invites research organisations and communities, as well as academic leaders, to take part in defining the thematic priorities of the next Congress.

Applications may be submitted either collectively or individually. Interested institutions and organisations may also act as applicants.

To submit an application by 5 March 2013, please send the following to the Congress email address ([email protected]):

1) a preliminary title of the section (panel);

2) a short concept note (about one paragraph);

3) a preliminary list of possible participants.

Respectfully,

The Organising Committee
