Eastern European School of Political Studies announces competition

The Eastern European School of Political Studies, together with the Council of Europe, announces a competition for participation in the 2017 programme for citizens of the Republic of Belarus under the age of 35. The programme will consist of three sessions. The first is planned for April 2017 in Vilnius, and the final one for 6-8 November 2017 in Strasbourg, during the World Forum for Democracy. Each session will last three to four days. Between the sessions, discussions, research programmes and activities aimed at disseminating the acquired knowledge are planned. Participation in each session is a mandatory condition for taking part in the World Forum for Democracy. Those who successfully complete the course will receive a Council of Europe diploma.

The programme will cover issues of socio-economic and political development in Belarus and other countries, reforms and transformations in different countries, European integration and European values. Participants will be offered interactive working methods that support personal development. Experts from the EU, Belarus and other countries will teach the programme.

Representatives of elected and administrative state bodies, public institutions, the non-state sector of the economy, public associations, scholars and educators, journalists, economists, lawyers, and professionals in politics and political science under the age of 35 with significant achievements in their professional and public activities are invited to apply. As a rule, applicants should have higher education.

Participants in the programme cover the cost of a Schengen visa and insurance, as well as an organizational fee of 50 euros. All other expenses are covered by the organizers.

Participants will be selected on the basis of application forms. The application form must be sent electronically to [email protected] by 25 February. In addition to the application form, the following documents must also be sent:

1. a photograph of yourself of at least 1000×1000 pixels in JPEG format;
2. a CV;
3. a short résumé, maximum two paragraphs;

File names should be: SURNAME_NAME_2017, for example, VASILEVICH_KATSIARYNA_2017, followed by _Anketa, _Photo, _CV, _brief. The application form and sample short résumé are attached.
