Award for the Best Text on Politics

The Political Sphere Institute announces the establishment of an annual award for Belarusian authors for the best scholarly text on politics.

The first award will be presented for the results of 2010.

Texts in political science, sociology, history, and other social disciplines will be accepted for consideration.

Texts will be accepted for consideration through nomination or self-nomination by authors or their colleagues, and will also be selected for participation through monitoring of scholarly output conducted by the Institute.

The award is intended for Belarusian researchers, regardless of whether they work in Belarus or abroad (disputed issues will be decided by the commission).

Staff members of the Institute are not eligible for the award.

The decision to grant the award will be made on the basis of the assessment of an expert council of 15 specialists in political science representing the academic community of Belarus and other countries.

The winner of the award will receive a prize of 400 euros.

The award ceremony is planned for March 2011.
