Around 400 Applications Submitted for the Second International Congress of Belarusian Studies
15 June marked the end of the call for applications to participate in the Second International Congress of Belarusian Studies. This year the Congress attracted exceptional interest among researchers. The Congress Organising Committee received an unprecedented number of applications. Around 400 scholars from Belarus, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Czechia, Russia, Canada, France, Finland, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Japan, Moldova, the Netherlands, Romania, Sweden and the United States expressed their intention to take part in the main academic event of 2012.
Based on the applications received, more than 20 sections are planned, bringing together specialists in political science, history, sociology, philosophy, cultural studies and other social-science and humanities disciplines.
The applications are now being reviewed by the Congress Organising Committee, while the abstracts submitted by researchers are being assessed by the coordinating councils of each section.
