Acta Baltico-Slavica, the journal of the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, announces call for papers for the 41th issue.
Deadline – 15.05.2016
Poland – Lithuania – Belarus: history, which divides and unites.
The volume will focus on the complex issues of historical relations between Poland, Lithuania and Belarus, their coverage by national historiographies, as well as their reflection in cultural and communicative memory. The era of nationalism has become the era of conflicts of national historiographies, but contrary to the dominant tendencies there have been several attempts to defend the idea of the indivisibility of the fate of “historical Lithuania” and Poland. Usually, these authors appeared on the periphery of scholarly and public thought, but the efforts of these “last citizens of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania” are worthy of attention of modern researchers.
The editorial board encourages reflections on the history, which divides and unites. We accept texts in Polish, English, Russian and Belarusian languages.
We invite historians, researchers of culture and memory to contribute to the issue.
