Call for Materials for Acta Baltico-Slavica, Vol. 41. Deadline: 15.05.2016

A call for materials is announced for the next issue of the journal of the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Acta Baltico-Slavica, Vol. 41
Deadline: 15.05.2016
Poland – Lithuania – Belarus: History That Divides and Unites.

The volume will be devoted to complex issues in the historical relations between Poland, Lithuania and Belarus, their treatment in national historiographies, and their representation in cultural and communicative memory.

The age of nationalisms became an age of conflict among national historiographies, but contrary to the dominant tendency, attempts were repeatedly made to defend the idea of the indivisibility of the fate of “historical Lithuania” and Poland.

Their authors usually found themselves on the periphery of scholarship and public thought, but the efforts of these “last citizens of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania” also deserve the attention of contemporary researchers.

The editorial board encourages reflection on the problem of history that divides and unites.

Texts are accepted in Polish, English, Belarusian and Russian.

Historians and researchers of culture and memory are invited to participate.
