“Political Sphere” Publishes Study on Perceptions of Belarus and Belarusians in Lithuania

Political Sphere has published a study entitled “Beyond the Border: Belarus and Belarusians in the Perception of Lithuanian Society”, examining how Lithuanian residents perceive Belarus and Belarusians following the events of 2020.

The study explores migration and security issues, perceptions of the Belarusian political system, expectations regarding Lithuania’s policies, as well as historical memory and cultural ties. The findings indicate that Belarusian citizens living in Lithuania are significantly less likely to be perceived as a threat than the Belarusian state, while their economic contribution is viewed predominantly positively. At the same time, attitudes towards further labour migration remain mixed.
