Call for section (panel) proposals for the 7th Congress until 10 March 2017
The Organizing Committee announces a call for proposals to create sections (panels) within the framework of the 7th International Congress of Belarusian Studies.

The Congress will take place on 15–17 September 2017 in Warsaw (Poland).

Sections (panels) may be devoted to the discussion of specific research problems or to the presentation of the results of scholarly work within particular disciplines or research areas.

When submitting materials, the Organizing Committee does not set strict thematic or disciplinary restrictions, leaving representatives of the academic and expert community the opportunity to articulate their priorities and interests independently.

Sections (panels) may be disciplinary, thematic, or narrowly specialized.

Applications are also accepted for organizing round tables, master classes, public presentations, etc.

The formation of sections and panels through an open call for proposals allows the International Congress of Belarusian Studies to meet the expectations and needs of the academic and expert community.

The Organizing Committee invites research organizations and communities, as well as academic leaders, to participate in defining the thematic priorities of the next Congress.

An application may be either collective or individual.

Interested institutions and organizations may also act as applicants.

The Congress is the most representative annual academic and expert event, bringing together all major intellectual centers engaged in the study of Belarusian politics, society, and culture.

In addition, holding the Congress provides an excellent opportunity to develop new viable research and civic projects, exchange views and ideas, and establish informal contacts with representatives of the expert and academic communities of Belarus and other countries.

The mission of the Congress is to develop a community of scholars, analysts, and experts, as well as to promote a deeper understanding of Belarus in the academic and public environment of the country, the region, and the world.

The Congress was founded in 2010 by a consortium of Belarusian and Lithuanian organizations; in 2016, more than 500 people from 20 countries took part in it.
