Call for Nominations for the Congress Award for the Best Publication, 2016 (until 15 April 2016)
The Organising Committee of the International Congress of Belarusian Studies announces the next call for nominations for the Award for the Best Publication in the Field of Social Sciences and Humanities published in 2014–2015.
The award in socio-political sciences and history is granted with the financial support of the Belarusian Charitable Fund (London), and the award in the humanities with the support of the Kipiel family (USA).
In 2016, an honorary Congress Award for the best monograph on Belarusian topics in Polish, published during the previous five years (2011–2015), will also be presented. This award continues the practice, begun in 2015, of recognising the best foreign authors who study Belarus.
The purpose of the award is to recognise achievements in the social sciences and humanities, to support high-quality research on Belarus and to encourage the publication of important academic work in Belarusian studies.
Nominations may include monographs, articles, chapters in collective volumes and other academic publications that make a significant contribution to the study of Belarus, its society, history, politics, culture and international context.
Nominations should be submitted to the Organising Committee by 15 April 2016. The submission should include bibliographic information about the publication, a short justification of the nomination and, where possible, an electronic version or a copy of the text.
The winners will be selected by expert juries in the relevant fields. The awards will be presented during the International Congress of Belarusian Studies.
