Call for articles and reviews for Belarusian Political Science Review vol. 4, 2016. Deadline: 15 May 2016

A call for articles and reviews has been announced for a new issue of Belarusian Political Science Review. The deadline for submissions is 15 May 2016.

Belarusian Political Science Review is a peer-reviewed periodical that publishes interdisciplinary research in various fields of political science. The publication is oriented towards the needs of the wider academic community working on the politics of Belarus and Central and Eastern Europe. The journal publishes research materials in all major areas and approaches of political science, without methodological restrictions. Materials submitted for publication must meet academic criteria. The regional focus of the journal is Belarus, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Lithuania and the other Baltic countries.

BPSReview was founded in 2010 by a consortium of organisations and brought together the experience of a broad academic community and institutions working to encourage and develop research in political science and political analysis.

Main requirements:

Only original research that has not previously been published as a separate article or as part of a monograph will be considered. Submitted articles undergo anonymous peer review. All texts must be written in English, using either American or British spelling.

The journal’s board strongly recommends that Belarusian scholars submit materials in English. In exceptional cases, authors may submit materials in Belarusian or Russian. The editorial team can help authors with translation and, if necessary, offer consultations on publication-related issues.

Articles by foreign authors should address the following countries: Belarus, Poland, Ukraine, Russia and the Baltic states. Comparative studies of countries in this region are especially welcome. Broader comparative studies that include at least one priority country will also be considered.

The minimum length of an article is 30,000 characters (10,000 for reviews), and the maximum is 55,000 characters (22,000 for reviews). In addition to the text, the following information must be submitted: a) information about the author; b) an abstract; c) 4-5 keywords.

The author information should include the author’s disciplinary or research field, country, academic affiliation and administrative status, as well as other important information about the author. The total length should not exceed 2-3 sentences.

The abstract should reflect the main ideas of the text and should not exceed 120 words.

All texts must follow the style of the American Political Science Association (see the link).

Materials for publication will be accepted until 15 May 2016.

Approximate publication date: November 2016.
