IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: 26 October 2023 – 5 November 2023

RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVE

 

To organise an expert conference that:

• Will contribute to improving stakeholders’ understanding of Belarusian foreign policy, memory politics, and the ecosystem of culture, science, and media in Eastern Europe

• Will increase general understanding of the formation of an independent Belarusian cultural and foreign policy, the development of science, and their place and significance in the socio-political and socio-cultural development of Eastern Europe, as well as discussion of the necessary transformations and reforms in Belarus in these areas. 

• Will strengthen academic and partner relations between Belarus and Ukraine in the context of the war and in the long term

Target groups:

The main stakeholders are experts in the fields of foreign policy, history, science, and media in Belarus, Ukraine, and Eastern Europe, including, first of all, researchers, critics, opinion leaders, and media representatives.

Main tasks:

Organising the logistics of the event (coffee breaks, travel, accommodation)

Organising offline panels on foreign policy, history, media, and science.

The objective of the event is to present the results of a number of studies, recommendations, agendas, and steps concerning Belarusian foreign policy, cultural policy and the culture of memory, media, and science, as well as to obtain a view of these issues from Eastern Europe. The event will discuss possible reforms and transformations in these areas in Belarus aimed at improving interaction and inclusion in the broader Eastern European socio-political and cultural context. 

Expected results:

• Event logistics are provided
• Reports on events and publications, as well as a final report after the campaign is completed.

Qualifications:

● Proven experience in organising academic events.

● Previous experience in the social sciences is an advantage.

● Communication skills.
