A Study of Museums in Belarus During the Political Crisis
The Political Sphere Institute presents its latest analytical paper, “Museums in Belarus During the Political Crisis, 2019–2022”.

The aim of the study is to trace the processes that took place in the work of museums in Belarus before and after the political crisis of 2020. The main focus is on exhibition activity, which is central to museum work. The study reviews and analyses the impact of the political events of 2019–2022 on the museum sector in Belarus by documenting changes in the themes and number of exhibitions. The need for this research was determined by the important role of museums as indicators reflecting conflicts in the field of heritage and historical memory in Belarus, which became especially relevant after the presidential election and with the outbreak of military actions in Ukraine.
